Bodega Lagarde (Mendoza)
![]() “Honoring the past, imagining the future.” That’s the working motto at Bodega Lagarde, one of the oldest and most venerable estates in Mendoza. This family-owned winery was founded in 1897 and has been at the forefront of Argentine wines for generations. Lagarde has some of the oldest vines in Argentina with some dating back over 100 years. Today, the third-generation of the Pescarmona family, sisters Sofia and Lucila Pescarmona, oversee the estate, and winemaker Juan Roby has been with the family since 1999.
Lagarde makes a range of wines: Altas Cumbres wines are youthful and expressive. Lagarde wines are the core brand of the family. The Guarda line is the collection of single vineyard wines. Primeras Viñas are two very special premium wines, and the Henry Gran Guarda is the family’s flagship wine. Lagarde wines have been recognized as some of Argentina’s best, with Decanter Magazine calling Lagarde “one of Argentina’s star producers.” Finally, some thoughts from the family: “Our philosophy is to achieve excellence harvest after harvest...We believe in Mendoza, we believe in our people and we believe in the land. We rely on teamwork, the pursuit of excellence through the entire production process...We create our wines to be shared with loved ones as we believe nothing mixes better than great wine and great company.” To taste Lagarde wines, please contact us.
